First six assistance dogs delivered to veterans in La Trobe research trial
The first six assistance dogs, in a program that will provide 20 assistance dogs in total, have been handed over to participating trial veterans at their homes, a milestone for the veterans involved and the DVA’s research trial conducted by the La Trobe University.

Be safe online
SCAM ALERT: DVA has been alerted to a malicious email which claims to be from myGov. The email prompts users to log in to an online portal and provide scanned copies of their passport and driver’s licence in addition to a picture of themselves holding the document.
If you receive an email of this nature, either at work or home, please do not open the attachment. You should delete this email immediately.

First psychiatric assistance dogs meet their new owners
Zuma and Leon are the first two psychiatric assistance dogs to be partnered with their veteran owners as part of DVA’s Psychiatric Assistance Dog program.
The program is available to eligible veterans as an adjunct to the treatment and management of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and an important step in helping veterans better manage their mental health and wellbeing.

2020 Napier Waller Art Prize open for submissions
The 2020 Napier Waller Art Prize raises awareness of the experiences and talent of service personnel, encourages artistic excellence, and promotes the transformative power of creativity.
Initiated in 2018, the Napier Waller Art Prize is named after Mervyn Napier Waller, an Australian artist who enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force in August 1915.
